Account Termination & Data Deletion

Version 2.0 — Effective: 22-09-2025

This page explains how you can request the termination of your HashThat account and what happens to your data once the request is processed. Please read carefully to understand your rights and our practices regarding account deletion.

1. How to Request Deletion

You can delete your account in two ways:

  • Log in to your account and go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm your request.
  • Alternatively, email us at support@hashthat.app using the same email address linked to your account, with the subject line “Account Deletion Request.”

2. Subscriptions

  • If you have an active subscription at the time of deletion, your future renewals will be cancelled automatically.
  • No refunds are issued for the remaining subscription period.
  • If you create a new account using the same email address before your current subscription expires, your subscription benefits will continue under the new account until the original billing period ends.
  • To keep your subscription active beyond the current billing period, you will need to manually re-enable auto-renewal after re-creating your account.

3. Cool-Off Period

When you request account deletion, your account will be marked for deletion for 30 days. During this time:

  • Your account remains accessible and you can continue to log in.
  • We will send you two confirmation emails — one immediately and one before permanent deletion.
  • If you log in at any point during this 30-day period, your deletion request will be cancelled automatically and your account will remain active.
  • After 30 days, if no login occurs, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

4. What Happens When You Delete Your Account

  • Your account will be permanently deleted.
  • All personal data (including your profile, saved files, passwords, and activity history) will be deleted from our systems, except where retention is legally required (such as financial transaction records).
  • Content that you shared with others may remain visible, but your personal identifiers will be removed.

5. Data Retention Exceptions

In limited circumstances, some data may be retained temporarily for:

  • Security and fraud prevention
  • Compliance with legal obligations

Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days before being fully deleted.

6. Confirmation of Deletion

Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email confirming that your account and associated data have been deleted.

For more details on how we process your data, please review our Privacy Notice and Terms & Conditions.
